2026 FFI Membership Add-On Fee (Tuesday, December 30, 2025)

In 2021 AFHE renegotiated its Association Membership arrangement with FFI. AFHE wanted the relationship to continue, but found the FFI Association Membership dues based on our full membership to be prohibitively expensive. AFHE’s Board also did not want the FFI Association Membership dues to be a burden on the entire organization’s finances when only about half of AFHE’s members would be taking advantage of the arrangement. AFHE’s renegotiated arrangement with FFI will have us fit within their 26-50 member pricing tier, rather than the 51-100 tier. AFHE’s Board approved an internal arrangement where the AFHE Members who do want to be included in the dual membership in FFI will pay an additional $175 of dues to AFHE. This will result in the participating AFHE Members receiving dual membership for much less than what the FFI dues alone would cost, and much, much less than what the dues would be to belong to both organizations without the arrangement, while the non-participating AFHE members will not be bearing as much (if any) of the cost of the FFI Association Membership.

This additional fee to help offset the large expense for AFHE is still a fraction of the $975 individual membership fee to FFI directly. You can view the FFI membership here: https://www.ffi.org/membership/

A Taste of AFHE - Virtual Group Discussion & Wine Tasting (Wednesday, August 12, 2026)

Members and non-members are invited to join us for our new quarterly virtual programming. Our first in this series is titled "A Taste of AFHE" and is designed to give prospective new members a preview and sample of AFHE programming. This session will feature two short presentations, followed by a lively group discussion and ending with a virtual networking session and wine tasting. Future quarterly programs may follow that same “hors d’oeuvres” or “charcuterie” pattern, or may begin with a full-hour presentation on a topic of interest.

There is no cost to participate in this program. Registered attendees will receive a link to the Zoom meeting the day prior to the meeting.

"The Succession Blueprint: Essential Strategies for Business Succession Planning"

In a condensed version of a March 2026 webinar, the speaker will explore the complexities and challenges of business succession planning.

Viewers will learn to identify factors a business owner should consider when creating a succession plan, the purpose of a buy-sell agreement as a business succession planning tool, and how a buy-sell agreement can be designed and implemented.

The Attorneys for Family Held Enterprises is an independent, non-profit association of attorneys, practicing in the areas of corporate, litigation, taxation, and trusts and estates who provide multi-disciplinary legal counsel and advice to publicly and privately-held enterprises, their owner-managers, and family members.

AFHE is excited to announce that our 2026 Fall Conference will take place in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah! This year’s conference combines valuable educational programming, outstanding networking opportunities, and memorable social events in one of the country’s most scenic destinations.

The conference begins on Wednesday, October 21, with an opening reception at a nearby restaurant, providing attendees with the perfect opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and build new professional relationships. For those arriving early, we will also offer an optional afternoon tour of Temple Square before the reception.

On Thursday and Friday, attendees will enjoy a full schedule of engaging and informative sessions hosted at Parsons, Behle & Latimer, conveniently located just a two-minute walk from the Hotel Monaco. The program will feature respected speakers and thought leaders covering timely topics relevant to our industry, and CLE credit will be available.

Thursday evening’s special excursion to Park City promises to be a conference highlight, featuring bus transportation to High West Distillery for a reception, seated dinner, and private tour.

To conclude the week, attendees are invited to participate in a Saturday morning golf outing at Stonebridge Golf Club, located just 20 minutes from the hotel.
